An established rural hospital in South Carolina is seeking a Board Certified or truly Board Eligible OBGYN for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians who enjoy practicing full-scope obstetrics and gynecology while working independently in a supportive environment.

• ASAP – Ongoing
• November 23 at 8:00 AM – November 26 at 8:00 AM
• December 21 at 8:00 AM – December 28 at 8:00 AM

• 24-hour call coverage
• Daily inpatient rounding (including weekends)
• APP provides clinic coverage, with physician support available for complex or emergent cases
• Emergency Department OBGYN consults as needed
• Rural hospital setting with autonomous practice
• EMR: EPIC

• Round on an average of 1–3 inpatients per day
• Manage 1–3 deliveries daily
• Perform vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections
• Evaluate approximately 2–4 NSTs/observations per day
• Provide OBGYN consults in the Emergency Department as needed

• 4 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) beds
• No inpatient midlevel support
• Circumcisions are not required (covered by Pediatrics)
• Patient population ages 15–70

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Comfortable performing both vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting
• Active or eligible South Carolina medical license preferred

Job Details:

• 13- and 26-week contracts (with opportunities for contract renewals)
• Full-time schedules are either 36 or 40 hours depending on the facility

Chesapeake Facility Schedules:

36-hour schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• Day shift position (6:00a- 6:30p)
• Night shift position (6:00p- 6:30a)

40-hour schedule

• Five 8-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• Night shift position (11:00p- 7:00a)

Capron Facility Schedule:

36-hour schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• Night shift position (7:00p - 7:30a)

License and Credentials Requirements:

• Current Virginia or compact RN license
• Current CPR Certification, BLS - American Heart Association
• Current PPD

Primary Job Duties:

• Conduct health assessments and sick call for inmates
• Administer medications and treatments
• Provide health education and counseling
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
• Monitor inmate health
• Treat inmate health conditions and injuries
• Supervise nursing assistants
